Vodafone's One Net service aims to improve business communication efficiency by integrating desk phones, mobile devices and voicemail. A single, seamless cloud-based office management and switchboard system keeps customers, employees and suppliers connected wherever they may be.
The system required a user interface portal designing for both desktop and tablet, which in turn would lay the foundations for an additional mobile device interface in the future.
The interface would initially be web-based, requiring a clear and simple layout to simplify at a glance the complex settings and advanced options available within the system. Core dashboard functionality included the set up of availability, call forwarding, voicemail and call screening.
Advanced options available to users with administrator rights would include managing, editing and setting up of profiles, colleagues, groups and calendar events.
Working closely with the wider user experience team at Vodafone Group headquarters, we were responsible for ensuring visual design consistency with Vodafone's new digital design language, being developed in parallel.
This was one of the first projects to be developed with these lastest recommendations in mind. As such, we were able to provide important interrogation and validation of proposed components and patterns, as well as contributing form element and error messaging definitions to the design language guidelines.
Project specific guidelines were then created for the development team in India, calling out unique templates and component definitions in support of the draft design language documentation.
From simple to more complex design projects, Ben delivers his work with real care and great attention to detail.
